About Us
Appulse Corporation ("Appulse" or the "Corporation") was incorporated April 24, 2001. The Corporation completed its initial public offering in November 2002 and was listed on the TSX Venture exchange. In August of 2003, the shareholders approved the acquisition of Centrifuges Unlimited Inc. ("Centrifuges") which represented the Corporation's major transaction. On October 9, 2003 the TSX Venture Exchange issued its final bulletin approving the transaction and Appulse became a “Tier One” company trading under the symbol " APL."
Appulse benefits from a strong, experienced and dedicated staff to guide its growth. New securities regulations, reporting requirements and costs present a challenging environment for the smaller, publicly traded company. We continue to believe, however, that the benefits accruing to the Corporation and its shareholders will continue to outweigh the cost of the many onerous regulations currently encountered.
Centrifuges Unlimited Inc. through locations in Calgary, Alberta, and Waterloo, Ontario, provides the core operating business for the Corporation. Over the past 25 years, Centrifuges has developed a well-trained and experienced staff and an extensive list of contacts and customers throughout the world. Since 1988 Centrifuges has specialized in the sales, servicing and refurbishing of centrifuge equipment and parts. Centrifuges also represents other companies for the sales of new equipment and parts. A continuing focus on customer service has earned Centrifuges a strong reputation leading to a consistent growth in annual revenues. Centrifuges carries one of the largest inventories of new and refurbished centrifuge parts in North America. The recent acquisition by Appulse of a full-service machine shop provides Centrifuges with the flexibility to provide high quality, specialized machining and manufacture of parts at competitive prices. Services cover a variety of makes and models of centrifuge equipment, efficiently meeting a wide range of customer needs. Centrifuges also offers consulting and design services for all types of manufacturing facilities.
Centrifuge's market is well diversified. Our equipment is utilized in all industries that require separation of liquids or solids either directly or indirectly in the manufacturing process. The company has traditionally focused on the food processing industry and sells, services, consults and provides parts to most food processors in Canada. Oil and gas applications are addressed through Centrifuge's 100% owned subsidiary, Rolyn Oilfield Services Inc. Other applications serve the environmental, forestry, marine, mining and fish processing industries. Environmental applications will continue to expand, offering economically beneficial solutions to problems involving liquids from wastewater to slop oil. New applications, including service to a growing bio-diesal industry, will augment our future growth. This well diversified industry base limits our exposure to the risk of fluctuations affecting a specific industry.
Appulse is aware that customers and business associates are looking for more value added businesses. As a result of this recognition, we have set up ECO Rentals and Leasing Ltd. to provide financing solutions for customers. ECO is a 100% owned subsidiary of Appulse. Eco will facilitate the sales entered into by Centrifuges by providing flexible and timely financing to the customer. Eco also maintains a fleet of rental equipment and used machines to provide short term rentals for customers and divisions of the company who may want to test applications before purchase, or who may only need the equipment on an occasional basis.
Appulse will continue to pursue expansion to its product base and geographic markets, in addition to pursuing a program of controlled acquisitions complimentary to current activities.
